Finely groomed chinstrap? Check. Flat billed cap cocked slightly to the side? Check. Fist Pump? Check. Oliver Perez is Guido approved. He's given up one run in four games against the Phils, but eleven runs combined in two games against the Giants and Mariners.
If you need a big win against a division rival, turn to Ollie. Need someone to toss batting practice to the Highland Park Little League? Don't let Perez touch the ball, he'll walk seven, hit two batters, and give up a homer to the kid who picks his nose in the outfield.
Carlos Delgado hit the go-ahead two-run double in the eighth.
Blue Jays 5, Orioles 1: Picking up where they left off, the Jays got the win roughly 15 hours after the game started. Suspended by heavy rains in the top of the sixth on Wednesday, the two teams continued yesterday, with the Jays bullpen securing the win for starter A.J. Burnett.
Lyle Overbay's go-ahead RBI double stood up as all Toronto would need vs. the O's, who were overtaken for fourth in the AL East.
Blue Jays 7, Orioles 1: Things went from bad to worse in Baltimore's regularly scheduled game, who had the misfortune of facing complete game guru Roy Halladay. While the Jays pitcher underachieved, going just seven innings, his six strikeouts and one run allowed were mediocre enough to get the win.
Marco Scutaro led the shelling of O's starter Daniel Cabrera, who has allowed 6+ runs in four starts this season.
Brewers 4, Cardinals 3: Things are going so well for the Brew Crew that even ERIC GAGNE got a win. If there's ever been a sure sign of the apocalypse, this is it. I'm writing this from my panic room right now, spooning out canned peas and lying under a lead blanket.
Milwaukee finished of the sweep with more ninth-inning heroics, this time coming from Ryan Braun. Braun ended a 4-4 day with a two-run homer to left off Ryan Franklin.
It was Franklin's fifth blown save and the 3849384th sign St. Louis needs some bullpen help.
